Welcome to Overland Publishing.

This site was created so that I could share those photographs that reflect my love of trains and the Rocky Mountain landscapes through which they run.

My compositions often include expansive landscapes relative to modern-day freight trains to emphasize the importance of the land and the environment.

The train, symbol of economic growth, is necessary for our prosperity, but at this time the health of the land is even more important. My photographs reflect the need to find a more harmonious balance between economic development and the health of the environment. Ultimately, our own health depends upon it.

Currently showing are three groups of work, including Wyoming from the Rails, Beside the Tracks and Trains of Wyoming.

Narratives accompanying each image highlight a cultural, historical or geographic aspect of that particular location or setting.

Prints are available for sale; click on the Ordering link, below, for additional information.

Thank you for visiting, and I hope you enjoy the site.

Morning Reflection and Autumn Blaze are among thirteen color photographs of modern-day freight trains rolling through the landscapes of the western U.S. Calendars are available for $10 plus s&h at unionpacificstore.com or 866-888-0185.
